Name:
The name derives from the French word ‘Citron’ meaning lemon.
Description:
Citrine is a golden yellow stone obtaining its colour from the presence of iron. Most Citrine is pale yellow and some after heat-treatment become deeper in colour.

Gemmological Characteristics:
Citrine, like Amethyst, is a quartz with similar hardness to Amethyst at 7.
Holistic Properties:
Citrine brings joy and self esteem. It also prevents any self-destructive tendencies.
Gem Folklore:
In ancient times, Citrine was carried as a protection against snake venom and evil thoughts.
Sourcing:
The best Citrine is mined in Brazil, from the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
